Robert K. Arnold


Robert K. Arnold is Senior Economist and Co-founder in 1969 of the Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy and its non profit affiliate, the Institute of Regional and Urban Studies.

Dr. Arnold's research has focused on an explanation of the growth process of the California economy. His principal interest is to explain the economics underlying public policy issues confronting the state and local governments.

He is recognized for his original contribution to the methodology of developing projections of jobs, income and population for the total state and subregions in the context of the future growth of the U.S. and global economies. Current projections are set forth in CCSCE Reports.

Dr. Arnold, prior to 1969, was senior economist at Stanford Research Institute, assistant professor at Antioch College and lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. He has also served as chief economist at the real estate firm of Marcus and Millichap.

He holds B.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
